The current functioning of the Large-scale Adivasi Multi-Purpose Societies in Karnataka are neither economically viable, socially empowering, nor ecologically Sustainable. A state-level dialogue has recently been initiated to understand the problems faced by these co-operatives, and to draw up a holistic time-bound plan of policy-level and grassroots-level actions to address these problems.
